This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use www.akrobat.co.uk or buy from us, how we use it, who we share it with and the choices and rights you have.
In short
- We use your details to process and deliver your orders, handle returns and warranty claims, and answer your questions.
- We share them only with the companies that help us do that, such as our website platform, payment provider and couriers.
- We never sell your information.
- We only send marketing emails if you're happy to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
- We only use cookies that are needed to make the site work.

1. Who we are
www.akrobat.co.uk is operated by Jet Sports Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 08543371), whose registered office is at Unit 5, Colliton Barton, Broadhembury, Honiton, Devon, EX14 3LJ.
This policy applies to www.akrobat.co.uk. Jet Sports Ltd also operates other websites, which have their own policies. Jet Sports Ltd is the “controller” of your personal information, which means we decide how and why it is used and we are responsible for looking after it.

2. The information we collect
Information you give us. When you place an order, create an account, contact us, make a warranty claim or sign up for emails, we collect:
- your name, delivery and billing addresses, email address and telephone number;
- details of your orders, returns, warranty claims and any conversations with us, including photographs you send us of a product;
- your account login details (your password is stored in encrypted form and we cannot see it); and
- your marketing preferences.
Payment information. Card, digital wallet and PayPal payments are processed securely by our payment providers. We do not see or store your full card number or your PayPal login details. We receive confirmation that a payment was made and limited details such as the card type and last four digits, or the email address linked to your PayPal account. If you pay by bank transfer, we receive the name and reference shown on the payment.
Information collected automatically. When you use our websites we collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you visit and how you arrived at our site. Some of this is collected using cookies (see the Cookies section below).
Information from others. We may receive information from our payment providers (for example, fraud screening results), couriers (delivery updates).
We do not ask for special category information, such as health details. Please do not include this in messages to us unless it is needed, for example to explain why you need a particular delivery arrangement.
3. How we use your information and why
Data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for each way we use your information. The table below sets out what we do and the basis we rely on.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have considered your interests and rights and concluded that they are not overridden by ours. You can ask us for more information about this. If you do not provide the information we need to fulfil an order, we will not be able to process it.
We do not use your information to make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Marketing
We will only send you marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them, or if you have bought from us before and did not opt out when you gave us your details. In that case we will only tell you about similar products and offers.
Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also opt out by contacting us or by updating the preferences in your account. Opting out of marketing does not stop us sending you messages about your orders.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with other companies for their own marketing.
5. Who we share your information with
We share your information only where necessary, with trusted service providers who help us run our business. They may use it only to provide their services to us and must keep it secure.

We may also share information with our professional advisers (such as accountants, lawyers and insurers), with the police, HMRC or other authorities where the law requires it, and with a buyer or successor if all or part of our business is sold or restructured.
6. Cookies
Cookies are small files placed on your device when you visit a website. We use:
- Essential cookies, which make the site work, for example keeping items in your basket, keeping you logged in, making checkout secure and protecting the site from attacks. These do not need your consent. Full details of every cookie we use are on our Cookie Policy page.
When you first visit our website you can accept or reject non-essential cookies using the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link at the bottom of the page, and you can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site, such as checkout, from working.
7. International transfers
Some of our service providers, including BigCommerce and Stripe, are based in or store information in the United States or elsewhere outside the UK. Where information is transferred outside the UK, we make sure it is protected, for example because the UK Government has confirmed the destination provides adequate protection (such as the EU and the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework), or by using the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum. 8. How long we keep your information
We keep your information only for as long as we need it:

9. Keeping your information secure
Our websites use encryption (HTTPS) to protect information sent to and from them, and payments are handled by our PCI DSS compliant payment provider. Access to customer information is limited to staff and service providers who need it. No system is completely secure, but we take appropriate steps to protect your information and will tell you and the Information Commissioner's Office where the law requires it if something goes wrong.
10. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
- correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your information, where we no longer have a good reason to keep it;
- restrict how we use your information in certain circumstances;
- object to us using your information where we rely on legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time;
- data portability, which means receiving information you gave us in a commonly used electronic format, or asking us to send it to someone else; and
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent. This does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

11. Children
You must be 18 or over to place an order with us. Our products are often used by children, but our websites are not aimed at them and we do not knowingly collect information about children. If you think a child has given us their information, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Links to other websites
Our websites contain links to other sites, such as manufacturers, safety organisations and social media. We are not responsible for how those sites handle your information, so please read their privacy policies.
13. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first at sales@jetsports.co.uk and we will do our best to put it right.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, telephone 0303 123 1113.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example if we start using a new service provider. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top. If we make significant changes, we will let you know where appropriate.
